Temporary Part-Time Service Desk/Retail Assistant -Antrim

(12 hours per week, 4-hour shifts over any 3 days, weekends included, For 1 Month Initially – Immediate Start)

We wish to recruit a Part-Time Service Desk/Retail Assistant who will play a fundamental role providing excellent customer service in the Antrim area. This is a customer facing role, providing an outstanding level of service at our trade counter and over the phone, maximising sales at every opportunity. As part of the branch team, this is an excellent role for the right person to develop their skills and experience within our industry.

This role will include:

• Providing excellent customer service at our busy Service Desk/Trade Counter maintaining high company standards
• Assisting customers/potential customers on their product selection detailing benefits/technical features of products
• Cash handling and operation of our in-house stock system.
• Assisting the Shop Manager with merchandising and keeping the shop at the highest standards of health and safety and cleanliness.
• Maintaining effective communications with our suppliers regarding the sourcing and delivery of products.

Criteria:

• Previous experience of providing excellent customer service within a Retail/Sale/Trade Counter environment essential
• Excellent teamwork and organisational skills
• Excellent communication skills both verbal and written
• Proficient in the use of IT and have good computer literacy
• Reliable and punctual
• Good knowledge of Building materials/products or willingness to learn
• Previous experience of working on a Trade Counter desirable

HGV Class 2 Lorry Driver

Responsibilities:

• Carry out multi-drop deliveries of building and timber materials to construction sites and private houses
• Load and unloading of lorries using HIAB, Forklift or manual handling where required
• Ensure loads are safely secured in line with Company and Transport regulations
• Complete daily lorry checks and report defects accordingly
• Maintain accurate delivery paperwork
• Adhere to drivers hours and tachograph regulations
• Provide professional, friendly customer service at all delivery points
• Follow all health and safety procedures in line with company policy and procedures

Essential Criteria:

• Class C/HGV2 License holder
• Must have valid and up to date Driver Certificate of Professional Competence (CPC) Card
• Must have digital tachograph card
• Minimum 1 year Class 2 or C driving essential
• Excellent communication and teamwork skills
• Good geographical knowledge of area
• Forklift and HIAB desirable but not essential as full training will be given.
